This weekend we opted for a brunch on the side of Montmartre, in the restaurant Au Zaganin. At the foot of the butte, this typical little Parisian bistro offers traditional French cuisine distinguished by the title of « Master Restorer ». We decided to test for you the formula « Brunch Premium » at 24 €.
On the menu: velvety vegetables, scrambled eggs, chorizo brunoise, sweet potato fries, duck foie gras on gingerbread, marinated raw salmon, raw milk cheese, white cheese and marmalade, chocolate mellows and fruit salad .
HOME & SERVICE
The room is half full when we arrive at 11am. A smiling man calls us a table. The waitress, serious and efficient, serves us. Squeezed orange juice and coffee or tea at discretion, accompanied by breads, toast and marmalade open the meal. When we ask for milk, he is immediately served. No complaints about this fast service. The atmosphere is unfortunately tarnished when shouts of voice resonate in the kitchen. This dispute allows us to imagine a stormy atmosphere behind the scenes.
DECO & AMBIANCE
Do not expect the picturesque Paris or the Montmartre of Woody Allen. From the outside, In Zaganin does not look. The terrace overlooking a deserted street is hardly dreamy. We prefer the interior very far. Passing the threshold of the establishment, a pleasant surprise awaits us. We immediately want to cozy up on the red banquettes of the small vintage and cozy room with a bar and light wooden tables. The works of artists adorning the walls arouse our curiosity. And the colorful brunch with the desired presentation also fills our eyes and soon our taste buds.
PLATE & QUALITY-PRICE RATIO
Side dishes, we enjoy. Special mention for the creamy and tasty vegetable velvety and sweet potato fries tender and crunchy. The foie gras on gingerbread is also succulent. If the portions are small, they are varied and overcome the biggest appetites. We had trouble closing our plate.
Reservation schedules for the brunch: 11h, 12h30, 14h and 15h30. Possibility to opt for a classic brunch at 22 € with a few dishes like duck foie gras on gingerbread.
